Prince William County Attorney Ross Horton to Retire

Prince William County Attorney, Ross G. Horton, today announced his decision to retire after 31 years of public service. Mr. Horton’s last day as county attorney will be June 30, 2009.

Mr. Horton began his career as the assistant county attorney for Prince William County in 1974. He left in 1981 to become the Stafford County Attorney. In 1983, Mr. Horton then entered private practice. He returned to public service with the Prince William County Attorney’s office as a senior assistant county attorney in 1987, and was named acting county attorney in 2005. In March of 2006, Mr. Horton was appointed by the board of county supervisors as Prince William County Attorney.

“The board and the community thank Mr. Horton for his years of dedicated public service and we wish him much health and happiness in his retirement,” said Prince William Board of County Supervisors Chairman Corey Stewart.

Mr. Horton looks forward to spending time with his family and pursuing other interests.
