The Commonwealth Council on Aging is pleased to announce the 2009 Best Practices Award Program that is targeted to organizations serving older Virginians and their families. As we all struggle to meet the challenges of serving a rapidly aging population during a time of budget cuts and growing demand, we need to share our best practices and applaud our successes. This best practices award program will do both. It will recognize best practices in eight different categories. Instructions and the nomination form are available from the Virginia Department for the Aging and may be completed on-line or downloaded by going to the department’s website: www.vda.virginia.gov.

Nominations for the 2009 Awards must be received by 5 PM on Friday, April 17, 2009. To discuss the 2009 Awards program, please contact Eugenia Anderson-Ellis at 804-643-3915 or Gene Davis at 434-971-5538.
