VIRGINIA PUMPKIN GROWERS ANNOUNCE ANNUAL MEETING
The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), in cooperation with the Virginia Pumpkin Growers Association, has announced the details of the association’s 2009 Annual Pumpkin Meeting.
The meeting will take place on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Carroll County Governmental Complex in Hillsville, Virginia. Highlights of the 2009 meeting include pumpkin production, marketing and promotions.
Attendance at the meeting is open to any Virginia pumpkin producer who has paid association dues of $50 annually. Dues are payable at the door on the day of the meeting.
The Virginia Pumpkin Growers Association was established to carry out educational and promotional activities to improve methods of pumpkin production, to encourage production testing, to stimulate interest among youth in produce production and to promote the marketing and sale of Virginia Grown pumpkins and fall produce.
