The editors at Money Magazine have ranked Herndon, Virginia, as the eighth “best place in the nation for the rich and single.”

The ranking, posted on CNNMoney.com, a joint Web venture between the two media outlets and Fortune Magazine, references Herndon’s proximity to major technology companies located within the Dulles Technology Corridor, its diverse night life and the comparative affluence of its residents as reasons why the town is attractive to wealthy singles.

Money editors used statistics from data provider Onboard Informatics to compile the ranking, taking into consideration qualifications that included median family incomes, crime statistics, number of restaurants within a 15 mile radius and more.
