Robert E. Claytor, who is the director of fiscal services for Rockbridge County, has been elected president of the Virginia Local Government Finance Corporation (VLGFC) by its board of directors. At the same meeting, the board reelected Beverly R. Cameron, Fredericksburg Assistant City Manager, as vice president.
Comprised of local government officials, the VLGFC Board of Directors is the governing body of VML/VACo Finance. Since its first bond issue in December 2003, VML/VACo Finance has financed over $600 million in projects and equipment for Virginia localities. VML/VACo Finance offers the Direct Loan Program for fixed rate financing and the Commercial Paper Program for short- and intermediate-term financing. In addition, the program administers the VACo/VML Pooled OPEB Trust, one of the largest pooled OPEB trust funds in the nation dedicated to investing retirement health care benefit contributions.
