The Louisa County Board of Supervisors announced Monday that Dale G. Mullen will serve as interim county administrator effective January 1, 2009. Mr. Mullen was originally hired in September to fill the vacated position of county attorney. He came to the Louisa County Attorney’s Office from the Office of the Attorney General, where he served as chief prosecutor and special assistant United States Attorney. In that role he led the investigation and prosecution of health care fraud cases in state and federal court for five regional offices of the Attorney General.
Having worked closely with the Louisa County Board of Supervisors and the county departments for the past several months, Mr. Mullen says: “My immediate focus is to bring my 20 years of experience in government, business and law to support the board of supervisors in its commitment to professionalism and accountability in every facet of county government. The county needs daily leadership that is mindful of our history, responsive to the present and focused on the future.”
Mr. Mullen holds a bachelor of science degree in organizational management and development from Bluefield College, Bluefield, Virginia; and a Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law, Richmond, Virginia. Mr. Mullen is a veteran of the US Navy. His resume includes service as a legislative liaison for local law enforcement and legislative work with the Virginia Office of the Attorney General, as well as a decade of service with the Richmond Police Department and representation of a wide variety of clients in private practice.
Board Chairman Willie L. Harper said that “Dale has extensive experience in providing professional leadership in state and local government. His unique experience in government, business and the law adds a valuable perspective to the board in his position as interim county administrator.”
C. Lee Lintecum announced his retirement earlier this month.
“Over nine years Lee Lintecum has worked to assemble a strong team of professionals for Louisa County. His work speaks for itself. I welcome the opportunity to build on his success,” stated Mr. Mullen
