Quality Archery Designs to break ground on new facility Feb. 17
Company aims to create new jobs as a result of expansion

Amherst, Virginia —Please join us at a groundbreaking ceremony for Quality Archery Designs (QAD) on Tuesday, February 17 at 10 a.m. as the company moves into the Amelon Commerce Center in Madison Heights.
QAD started in 1992 with just a few employees occupying less than 2,000 square feet of manufacturing space. QAD manufactures patented archery accessories and also provides engraving services through its subsidiary Lasermarx, Inc. QAD is the manufacturer and designer of the Ultra Rest, a full containment arrow rest. The Ultra Rest is a fall away arrow rest that allows total fletching clearance.
QAD’s new facility at the Amelon Commerce Center will provide approximately 18,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space on two floors. QAD currently has 30 employees with the potential to create new jobs at its expanded facility.
Amherst County Economic Developer John Mulvey stated, “QAD, an expanding local manufacturing company in Amherst County, outgrew their original location. Through coordinated efforts of Amherst County officials and staff combined with the efforts of the Amherst County Economic Development Authority, QAD will occupy and develop lot 10 of the Amelon Commerce Center. This move will allow QAD to continue to expand in Amherst County and create new jobs, make additional investment, and continue to be an outstanding part of the business community.”
Quality Archery Designs will become the fourth business to locate in the Amelon Commerce Center, joining Old Dominion Footwear, England’s Stove Works, and the new Commercial Metals Corporation Rebar facility.
Light refreshments will be served courtesy of Amherst County officials, county staff, and the Amherst County Economic Development Authority. Tents will be in place in the event of inclement weather.
