After a long and distinguished career, Williamsburg Clerk of Council Shelia Y. Crist
will retire January 1, 2009, having faithfully served the city of
Williamsburg for more than 27 years. In 2007 Crist was named the
Virginia Municipal Clerks Association’s Clerk of the Year. That same
year she also received the prestigious designation of “Master
Municipal Clerk” from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
At the December City Council Meeting, Crist received a Resolution of
Commendation and Appreciation and the Excellence in Service to
Williamsburg Award.
Dee Scott, Administrative Assistant for the Williamsburg Planning Department and
a 14 year employee of the city, will be the new Williamsburg Clerk of Council,
effective January 1, 2009.
